The EE 495 Capstone Project emphasizes the application of a formal design process. Students are divided into working groups of two or three to design, in a top down fashion, a product or system. The students start from a layman's statement of what is needed and produce a requirement specification, system analysis and specification, block level design and a working unit. The students are then required to give a formal oral presentation of their year's work to a group of their peers.
